I have been making knives for over 50 years. I made my first knife in high school from the only material I had available, an old file. I continued making knives part time while I was in the United States Navy. After retiring I turned my love of knife making into a fulltime career. I am an active member of the American Bladesmith Society and have been a member of the Knifemakers Guild since 1982. I have been featured in several different issues of Blade Magazine. (April 1988, Oct. 1995, Sept. 1997, Nov. 2000, Oct. 2002) I am an instructor at Batsons Hammer In and I instructed a class in Arkansas this past May. I make all sorts of knives but I am best known for my reproductions of old original Bowies.
I use the following material in my knives.
Blade: 440c, bg42, 1095 and 52100 Steel
Handle: Ivory, Pearl, Buffalo Horn, Stag and all kinds of wood
I make all my knives by hand from start to finish, including my own heat treating. If you don't see what you are looking for, please contact me for special orders.
